Each month the U-Haul Self-Storage Affiliate Network welcomes the newest locations in the network. This August, we are excited to welcome many new self-storage facilities, including Lake Powell View RV and Boat Storage. Located in beautiful Greenehaven, AZ, near Lake Powell, this new U-Haul Self-Storage Affiliate has a variety of different unit sizes and boat and RV spots. Here is a Q & A with Lake Powell View RV and Boat Storage owner Nancy Theken.

Question: Tell us a little bit about your facility and how long you have been in the storage business.

Nancy: We are the owners of Greenehaven Development Corporation and built Lake Powell View RV and Boat Storage in 2002 in the beautiful, quiet community of Lake Powell View Estates at Greenehaven. LPV RV and Boat is a quick 6 miles from bustling Wahweap Marina. We are an expansive, modern and secure facility, with spectacular views of Lake Powell. Our Facility Manager, Lou Sinatra, has been with us 10 years and is a friend to all! Many continue to rent with us because of their relationship with “Louie” and the reliability of our excellent facility management.

We have the best customers! It’s a playground here at Lake Powell and people often bring their “toys” in for secure storage.

Question: How did you hear about the WebSelfStorage Business Platform and what made you make the move over?

Nancy: We were approached by a U-Haul regional rep. at the same time that our older self-storage software became obsolete. We wanted a state of the art, an online management tool that would allow us to oversee the facility wherever we are. We believe its a perfect match!

Question: What do you enjoy about owning a Self-Storage location?

Nancy: By far, it’s the people. We have the best customers! It’s a playground here at Lake Powell and people often bring their “toys” in for secure storage. We even offer a launch and retrieve service to make life easier when all you want to do is get out on the lake and play! Self-storage is a steady business making it an enjoyable business! Even through the great recession of 2008, we have been able to report a strong, reliable occupancy rate.

Question: If you could give one piece of advice for a new location starting out in the industry what would it be?

Nancy: Be “Customer Satisfaction” driven. Get to know your customers and truly give the service that will keep them, loyal patrons.

Question: What are you most excited about in using a web-based program?

Nancy: We are excited to be able to truly get a handle on our management by the web-based tools WebSelfStorage provides! We are now cutting edge instead of archaic and we all know that it’s critical to continue to evolve in this fast-paced world of the internet.

Question: Do you have any feedback on your experience with our Sales team, your Operations Analyst or the automated conversion process?

Nancy: I really appreciated the flexibility that the sales and operations teams gave to us. We had many delays getting converted due to our heavy travel schedule. I appreciated the patience coupled with good communication! The conversion was as simple as it gets! We are now customizing items to our specific facility personality and its been very easy!

Question: Is there anything else you would like to add?

Answer: We are excited to be with an American brand such as U-Haul and WebSelfStorage. We look forward to a complimentary, win-win relationship!
